Why do I NEED an engagement shoot.

So I either have the clients that are really excited for their engagement shoot or the exact opposite. The most common thing I'll hear is "we're not really picture people" or "we don't really like our picture taken".  This is fine and I totally understand, you don't have to love having your picture taken but you do have to tough it out.

The first main reason is a trial run with your photographer.  You've seen your photographers images online or in person, but now those photos are going to be featuring you. Can this photographer produce the images that you'll want to hang on your wall?

So for your engagement shoot you're seeing the photographer work, use his camera, lights and direct you. You also get to see if you both click, if you get along with this person who you're going to spend an entire day with. While this isn't totally necessary that you both get along, It'll make the day go a hell of a lot easier.

That's one of the big things I always tell my brides about engagement shoots, this is the chance to spend two hours with someone who you're planning on spending a day with. We have the most interaction with the bride and groom out of any of the vendors on your wedding day.  I choose my clients just the same way they're choosing me so this is a good chance for me to feel you out also.

Your engagement photos can be used for your save the dates or other announcements. Your parents, grandmother, aunts and uncles won't mind seeing these beautiful photos either.
