A wedding photojournalist is a person who takes photographs during a wedding using an alternative approach where images are captured spontaneously to emphasize moments and emotion. Much like photojournalists for the media, wedding photojournalists present the story of the day through their photographs. A wedding photojournalist typically shoots images quickly using available light or on-camera flash rather than using traditional, formal posing techniques and studio lights. Wedding photography has gone through a big change in the past decade or so.
The shift from traditional to journalistic photography signals a change from old
to modern in style. When you're looking through your own wedding album you
will see the emotions of that day, the happiness and joy; not a lifeless pose.
The journalistic approach allows for that and more, you get the creativity
that makes a unique statement showcasing both of your personalities.
I shoot weddings because it's a very exciting venue of photography. Excitment and joy surround your wedding day and i get to be a part of that. My job is to ensure that you look back on the day with fond memories and great pictures, and most of all your happiness with my work. Your wedding day gives me one shot at getting the right shot and that's what i do best. I go the extra mile for you on your wedding day whether that's me lending a belt or climbing a tree or getting soaked to get that right shot. The prssure of the day keeps everything at a creative pace for me which is why i choose to shoot primarily in a journalistic fashion with a mix of traditional for balance.
My name is Michael Hendrickson and I'm from Worcester Massachusetts. I've always had an interest in photography and over the years I've fine tuned my passion into a profession. I first started out documenting my own life through pictures, now I document others on their special occasions and moments that require a finer attention to detail than the average can perform.

I'm based out of Central Massachusetts and I've been shooting professionally for three years. All my work is shot with Nikon & Canon DSLRs with various lenses and lighting equipment.I primarily shoot weddings and portraits but venture wherever I am sought. I've worked with musicians and lightly in fashion and event photography which has allowed me to grow as a photographer. I am proficient with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom which I use in the majority of my post production.

Contact me via the form on my contact page to request a photo shoot. You will need to provide me with the details of what you would most be interested In and a date and time. Once a date Is set you will owe $50 up front (payable via PayPal). The $50 dollar fee Is a retainer fee and is non refundable,this fee Is deductible from the total amount set for date and time. A new fee will be required If date and time are altered. If you require my time beyond the original booking I am available at the rate of $55 a hour. I also require that a model release form be signed by any client i work with.
